Voice-controlled periodontal record charting

Say the values. Keep charting.

Call out probing depths and they go straight into the chart already open on your operatory computer. A full-mouth exam without a second person typing, and without the price of a voice-charting system built for large groups.

Speak into the phone in your hand, the computer’s own microphone, or a headset you already own. A phone is never required.

  • Seven-day free trial, one flat price per office
  • No phone needed: the computer can listen on its own mic
  • SmileMaxer’s cloud does not receive or store voice audio
  • Chart entries stay on the practice network

One connected workflow

From spoken entry to the office chart.

The clinician controls the chart. PerioMaxer records what is entered and keeps the phone and office desktop connected.

01

Call out the chart

Use the PerioMaxer phone app chairside. Spoken values are parsed on the device and shown in the periodontal chart for review.

02

Pair to the operatory

Choose the remembered office computer and tap Connect. A fresh session uses an encrypted, certificate-pinned connection on the local network; scanning its QR remains the fallback.

03

Record in the open PMS on Windows

The Windows companion follows the configured chart order and enters each clinician-recorded value into the chart already open on that computer. Mac sessions are preview/dry-run only.

Your choice of microphone

A phone is handy, not required.

PerioMaxer listens wherever it suits the operatory. Pick one source per session and switch whenever you like.

Most offices start here

The phone in your hand

Easy because it sits right next to you. It hears you clearly at arm’s length, and the full chart is on the screen so you can glance down and check a tooth without leaving the patient.

The computer’s own microphone

The Windows companion has a “Use this computer’s microphone” button. Press it and chart straight into the PMS with no phone in the room at all.

A headset or mic you already own

A USB, wired, or Bluetooth microphone works as soon as Windows treats it as the input device. Nothing to buy from us, and no special hardware.

One source is live at a time. The computer’s microphone pauses on its own while a phone is paired, so the two never write to the same chart at once.

Your practice management system

It types into the chart you already use.

The Windows companion enters values into the perio chart open on that computer. No export, no import, no second system to reconcile.

Open Dental

In daily use
Windows desktop

The full path is live: values typed into the open perio chart, bleeding and suppuration flags, missing and implant teeth read back, and your practice's charting order detected automatically.

Dentrix

Supported, setup required
Windows desktop editions

Dentrix exposes no perio-chart API, so the companion types into the chart the way a person would. You record a short macro once during setup. Verified against Dentrix 26.12. This is the installed desktop product, not Dentrix Ascend, which runs in a browser and would need a different approach.

Which should we build next?

Tap the one your office runs. We build toward whatever the most practices are asking for, so this genuinely decides the order.

Standalone when you want it

The phone app remains a complete charting workspace.

Use PerioMaxer independently on iPhone or Android, or switch the practice workflow to Office Linked when an enrolled office desktop is available.

Designed around a clean data boundary

Chart traffic stays outside the licensing API.

  • Voice recognition uses the selected mobile speech backend and platform.
  • SmileMaxer’s cloud does not receive or store voice audio.
  • Office chart entries move over the practice LAN.
  • The cloud stores account, license, registered-device metadata, pairing authorization, and session status.
  • Session security records include public IP and, when supplied by a trusted edge, coarse country/region.
  • The licensing service is not designed to accept or store patient names or periodontal chart values.

Record-keeping onlyPerioMaxer records and transfers values entered by a dental professional. It does not diagnose, interpret findings, recommend treatment, or replace review of the chart of record.
