1 · The account comes first
The owner sets up the office once.
Everyone else joins by signing in on a computer or by scanning a code on a phone. Nobody types a license key.
Sign in on each office computer
Install the Windows companion, sign in with the practice account, and name the computer. It appears on the portal’s Computers page right away.
Clinicians scan the code
In the free phone app, tap “My office already has PerioMaxer” and scan the code on an office computer. That is the whole phone setup.
2 · The phones
The app is free with an office plan.
Clinicians chart from the phone in their hand. Nothing to buy in the app, and phones are unlimited on every plan.

3 · The operatory computer
The Windows companion types into your chart.
Install it on the Windows computer that runs your practice software. It enters each spoken value into the perio chart already open on that computer.

PerioMaxer Desktop signs in with the practice account, names the computer, and listens on the phone or on the computer’s own microphone.
PerioMaxer Desktop is in final testing. The download appears here the day it ships.
Updates install themselves. IT teams can check installers against the release manifest.
Open Dental
No plugin needed
The companion types into the perio chart open in Open Dental and reads the chart back, so the phone shows what the computer holds.
Dentrix
G7 and later, installed desktop
The companion follows the charting order Dentrix uses and types each value the way a person would, pausing whenever Dentrix loses focus.
4 · Pairing a phone
The code on the office screen is the whole handshake.
A phone joins an operatory by scanning the code the Windows companion shows. The connection stays on the office network and carries chart values only, never a patient name.

Scan to connect
Open the app, tap Connect, and point it at the code on the operatory computer. The phone remembers that computer for next time.
No phone
The computer listens on its own
Press “Use this computer’s microphone” in the companion and chart straight into the practice software with no phone in the room at all.
