Delete your account and data
Effective July 25, 2026.
This page explains how to delete a PerioMaxer account and what happens to the data afterwards. It applies to the iPhone app, the Android app, the Windows and Mac companions, and periomaxer.com.
Delete it yourself
1. Sign in at periomaxer.com/login as the practice owner. 2. Go to Settings in the account dashboard. 3. Open Delete this account, type the practice name to confirm, enter your password, and submit.
Deletion runs immediately. Your subscription is cancelled in the same step, so there is no need to cancel first.
Only the practice owner can do this, because it closes the whole practice.
Or ask us
If you cannot sign in, or you want a single staff account removed rather than the whole practice, email support@periomaxer.com from the address on the account with the subject Delete my account. We confirm the request came from the account holder, delete it, and write back. We answer within 30 days and usually within two business days.
Do not include patient information in that email.
What gets deleted
- Your account and every other staff account at the practice: email, name, role, password hash, and authentication settings.
- Registered devices: every phone and office computer enrolled to the practice, and their pairing certificates.
- Licence keys, operatories, charting-session records, chart-order submissions, and support messages.
Anything held on the device itself, including on-device chart data, goes when you uninstall the app.
What we keep, and for how long
We keep the minimum the law requires. Nothing in this list identifies a patient, and nobody can sign in to the account once the staff accounts are gone.
| What | How long | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Billing and tax records | 7 years | Tax and accounting law |
| A signed Business Associate Agreement | 6 years from termination | Required by HIPAA |
| The practice name and address | 7 years | The BAA and the tax records both refer to it |
| A record that this practice already used a free trial | Indefinitely | Stops one office taking repeated free trials |
| Security and audit logs | 2 years | Fraud and abuse investigation |
| Backups | Up to 90 days | They roll off on their own schedule |
What we never held in the first place
The cloud service is not designed to receive voice audio, periodontal chart values, or patient names, so there is nothing of that kind to delete from it. Voice recognition runs on your device. Chart entries move between the phone and the paired office computer over your practice's own network. Your practice management system holds the chart of record, and deleting a PerioMaxer account does not touch it.
Cancelling versus deleting
Cancelling a subscription stops the billing and leaves the account in place, so you can come back to it. Deleting removes the account and cannot be undone. Cancel from Billing in the account dashboard; delete from Settings.
Timing
Deleting from the dashboard takes effect at once. An emailed request begins once we confirm it, and active data is gone within 30 days either way. Backups roll off within 90 days.
